What I read 2022

Setting an ambitious goal of reading 100 books for 2022 was a big task.

From classics to trilogies, to retellings to LGBTQIA+ nothing was off limits. There were some surprising reads, but also some duds.

Never discredit the average book. There is nothing wrong with average. It’s the average books that make you appreciate the good ones.

Books that I did not finish

Reading should bring you joy. If a book isn’t holding your interest or is just not your style, it’s ok to give up and not finish it.

These are the books that I tried, but for whatever reason, they didn’t do it for me.

  1. Laekan Zea Kemp – The Girl in between (DNF)
  2. Lily Foster – Let me be the one (DNF)
  3. Lila Rose – Holding out (DNF)
  4. Junot Diaz – This is how you lose her (DNF)
  5. Kate Grenville – A room made of leaves (DNF)
  6. Bernadine Evaristo – Girl, woman, other (DNF)
  7. Olivie Blake – The Atlas Six (DNF)
  8. Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera – Here’s to us (DNF)

There you have it, the books that I read or simply didn’t finish for 2022.

In 2023, I’d like to see all my Kobo library books read, strangely there are 23 books left on that list.

I might even cross off a few books from my Kindle list, which I have not read one single book from this year… oops… I shouldn’t have looked, there are over 50 books on that list (not including the numerous cookbooks that I have there).

May my reading in 2023 be just as fun as 2022 has been.
