Book Review: The First to Die at the End

By Adam Silvera

Pages: Hardcover 560, Paperback 368, Audiobook 6 hours.
Mi Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a prequel to They Both Die at the End.

Set ten years prior in 2010, tells the story of Valentino and Orion.

Death-Cast has just launched.

Valentino has just moved to New York, and his twin sister Scarlett is making her way from Arizona to New your city to start their new lives together.

Orion has always lived in New York, and he has always known that he was going to die because he has a heart condition which means he could die any second.

While in times square Valentino and Orion meet, and they feel a connection.

Both have reasons why they have signed up for death cast, but on its launching day, only one receives the call.

Together they play out the rest of their day.

I loved this story because it wasn’t just about Valentino and Orion.  It was very much six degrees of separation, and how everyone is connected.

We even get to meet young, Rufus & Mateo, the two main characters in they both die at the end.
