I remember as a kid that time used to drag. Please tell me I wasn’t the only one.
Oh to be a kid again, man I had a good childhood.
Now the time I swear goes at warp speed.
It’s June! Like Seriously!
So go grab a drink, sit down, and let’s catch up, as it’s time for our Ultimate Coffee Date.
If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you that I covered 103km running in May. That’s my lowest distance thus far for the year.
My favourite run for the month would definitely have to have been Wings For Life, then followed up with a surprising win at a run club with the Andrew Darnell Memorial.
Overall I covered 124km, but that does include a few bushwalks.
Oh, how I have been enjoying bushwalking. We have been blessed with some spectacular Autumn weather.
When was the last time you went bushwalking/hiking?
Anyway, so far I have covered 611km this year, which works out to be an average of 122km a month. That’s just shy of my 1500km goal for the year. Hmm, I better pick up my game.
This is why I’m telling you while we are having coffee that now that it is Winter, I’ve decided to level it up and make June a Running month, with Run June.
That should get me motivated to keep warm this winter for sure. It’s also ging to help me get just that little bit closer to my yearly goal.
In other news, I was one of the event organisers and photographers for Run The Gap. Was a fantastic event, and it was nice to give back.
If you have never volunteered for an event, you should.
If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you that I’ve signed up for another trail event!
Mosaic to Mountain has been an event I have done in the past.
When I discovered that they were having a trial option this year I knew I had to do it.
I had planned to have a rest with the longer distances, but obviously, life had other plans.
Will I get a sub 2h30 trail time? I’m hoping. Better hit those trails that’s for sure.
If we were sitting down for coffee, what would you tell me?
Congrats on your mileage! I think it’s pretty impressive! It’s now time for me to slowly get back into running in time for my half marathon in September.
Last year, I thought trail running was something I’d be keen to do, but now I’m not so sure! I’m not a fan of hills etc but I guess with time and practice I could change the way I feel! Good luck for your race in August!
I never thought trail running would be for me either, but it’s made me appreciate things so much more. It’s also strengthen my ankles which is a huge plus.
Enjoy your half marathon journey.
