Focus

I wear glasses.  I have done so since my 2nd year of Uni.

Glasses help me to see things clearly.

Without them, the world is soft and slightly blurry.

I’m lucky in the sense that I can still run without my glasses.  Which is why you don’t see race photo’s of me wearing glasses.

Just the other day I had to get my eyes tested. No change in the script, which is a good thing.  She said that usually around this age your eyes stabilise and then around mid 40’s they change for reading etc.

So what do I and my glasses have anything to do with today’s Mindful Monday?

Well, a lot of things.

Focus

The dictionary defines focus as the following:

a central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity

Why is this important?

Because what we focus on, what we give our attention to whether good or bad, affects our outcome.

If we focus on positive things, then of course we will expect positive results.

The opposite rings true too.  If we focus on the negative things, then it’s safe to assume negative things will be attracted us.

So how do you know what you want?

Well, that all depends on how much you want it.  For some, it’s clear as day.  For others it’s fuzzy.

If you are one of those people where it is fuzzy, don’t despair!

In these cases, have a look at what you don’t want.

This will help you determine what you do want, and in turn, will help you focus on the positive areas in your life.

So just like my glasses, focus on what you want and give it all you’ve got, and life will flourish for you.

Or you could just look at life all soft, blurry, and fuzzy. Yeah, no thanks.

What do you focus on?
