This blog post has been in my drafts pile for a while.  I did have the intention of posting it a week month after this post Video’s to Inspire.

Alas, life happened and it NEVER happened.


Oops so about that.

But it is here now and for my Blog Everyday in Jan, fancy that.

There is no denying that I love to read.

I never use to be a reader. As in going out of my way to read a book (unless it was for school, then I had no choice).

As I’ve grown up, I’ve discovered that I really do enjoy reading.

One of the things I love about reading is that you can travel the entire world, and go on any adventure, all without leaving your home.

Reading allows your mind to be exposed to new things, to new information, to new ways to solve problems and to new ways to achieve things.

Reading has helped me to become more self-confident and has expanded my knowledge and skills.

It has also helped improve my spelling, understanding, vocabulary and memory.

But my favourite thing about reading is that exposes you to the world of imagination.


So without further ado, here are my 9 books to feed your Mind Body & Soul.

Wild – Cheryl Strayed

Push – Chalene Johnson

If you didn’t already know I’m a huge fan of Chalene Johnson.

It was this book by Chalene that gave me the push I needed to achieve my goals.

This was an online program, it’s now no longer available.

While having done the program online, it was nice to have it in a book format for the reference.

Chalene will give you the lessons you will need so that in just 30 days you will learn valuable lifetime tools to achieve your goals, and live the life you deserve.

Everything to Live For – Turia Pitt

In September 2011 Turia Pitt’s life changed forever when the ultra-marathon event she entered in the remote Kimberly range in Western Australia was ravaged by bush fire.

Along with 5 other competitors and nowhere to run, Turia escaped with catastrophic burns to over 60% of her body.

It Starts With Food – Dallas & Melissa Hartwig

Whole30 was founded with the book “it starts with food”.  Because at the end of the day, the key to losing weight, improving quality of life, and having a healthier relationship with food, start with, you guessed it food.

So what’s a kid’s book doing on this list?

Well, this book will teach the importance of words, and how words have the power to engage, provoke and most importantly give you the power to the imagination.

If you have kids, this is the book that not only will encourage them to read, you will love reading it to them.

The Power of Habit –  Charles Duhigg

We, humans, are creatures of habit. This can be a good thing, but also can hinder us.

In The Power of Habit, you will learn about habits in Individual, Organisational & Social Group situations.

This book will make you question your own habits, and how you can turn around your own habits to be a better version of yourself.

The Commandments for Losing Fat the Sane and Simple Way – Nia Shanks

 This book is short, sharp and sweet. With 10 simple steps to help you lose the fat.

Nia has a no-bullshit approach, which is simple, to the point, and will make you get the job done.

While the approach is simple, it will involve some hard work, but worth it.
