Year of You: Try

When uni ended, and my parents relocated to QLD, my sister and I decided it was time to fly the cook and rent a place together.

Besides work, friends and a few hobbies I felt lost. I just wasn’t inspired, and frankly a little lost.

Rather than sitting around and moping, I decided to take action.

I decided that I would create a list of all the things I wanted to try.

  • Archery
  • Dancing
  • Fencing

Were just some of the things on my list.

If I never created this list I would have never found out that I was actually really good at archery.

Who would have thought?!

The same thing happened with running.  What started as a simple goal to run a 5km event, has turned into a running adventure.

Running has taken on my adventures and has given me a very full life.

The point is if I never took the time to try, I would always wonder.

Take this opportunity to try.

Starting today, create a list of all the things you have always wanted to do.  Then pick one and give it a go. If we don’t like it, that’s ok, you will learn from. Then go do another one.

Most importantly have fun with it, and if you can drag a friend to do it with you, even better.
