Living in Ballarat (Victoria), Luca is a ballet dancer with aspirations of joining the Australian Ballet School (ABS).
One day while leaving class, tragedy strikes. Luca falls down the stairs he breaks his foot.
A foot in a cast, new school, being gay, and having to make new friends, life isn’t all that grand for Luca.
Luca lived, breathed, and existed for ballet. His dance career is over, PTSD from the accident. He has no friends because he and they have ghosted each other, he has to start all over.
It’s safe to say that Luca is miserable. That is until he meets Jordan, the school captain and rowing champion. Everyone says he’s straight, but Luca isn’t sure.

This book is semi-local (Ballarat is a regional city for Victoria and about a 70-minute drive from where I live).
Matthew does an excellent job of narrating this novel.
If you are a fan of Red White & Royal Blue, then add this to your list. It’s fun, quirky, and adorable.
I was dying over the shoe incident. That is TOTALLY something I would do.
The best supporting character has to go to Luca’s new BFF Amina. She’s Indonesian and Muslim and the type of friend to who I could relate.
Anything but fine would have to be one of my all-time favourite Rom-com novels. I enjoyed this way more than Red White and Royal Blue.
