Speedwork Sessions #11

I use to think that running around and around a track was boring.

That was before I did regular speedwork sessions.

The advantage of running on a track is that your distance is set.  You can see where it starts, and where you will finish.

Track running completely cuts out the “unknown”, the “unexpected”.  It’s just you and the track.

So while you think maybe 10 laps of a track may be boring, spare a thought for those that compete in Ultra runs on a track.

There have been a few RMAers that recently competed in the AURA – WA Track Ultra. Choosing to run for 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours.

Now that is some serious effort.

While you won’t be running 24 hours on a track, this 40-minute session will seem like a piece of cake.
