May we check in?

It’s safe to say that May was a roller coaster month.

Not only did I blog every day in May.  I ran a race, missed a race, and got sick.

So I thought I would check in and give you the rundown of it all.

May-blog

Here is a list of some of the things I learned from blogging every day in May.

  • Before you start the challenge, print out the monthly calendar and jot down ideas / subjects to talk about each day.
    Keep this near your computer.
  • Schedule posts.
Seriously.  I’m a busy person, and I don’t want to be tied down to a computer writing blog posts that don’t come from the heart.
Sometimes I would write 3 or 4 blog posts a day, and schedule them in advance. Some may say “that’s cheating”. I say it’s forward planning.
  • Tired to have at least 1 image in your blog. This makes it easier to share on other social media.
  • Link up with other blogs, this will give you a good traffic flow.
  • Remember to have fun.

May Running Stats

I did up running more kilometres in May than I did in April, but only just.

Jan – 71.12
Feb – 94.94
Mar – 95.24
Apr – 68.52
May – 76.66 km

Progressive Total

Jan – 71.12
Feb – 166.06
Mar – 261.3
Apr – 329.82
May – 406.46 km

Goal – 1000 km

Yes, I did have a goal of running 100km in May, but getting hit with a bad case of Tonsillitis didn’t help.  Oh well it happens, there is nothing I can do about it.

At this stage, I have to run 95km in June just to break even for the year.  We’ll see.  So far I’ve been for one 3km run, and I found that exhausting.  I do have a trail event at the end of the month so that should be interesting.

Who knows what June will hold?

How did May hold up for you?
Anything exciting, or not so exciting happened?

  1. So impressive you blogged every day in May, I enjoyed seeing the different posts you came up with! I love your tip about making a monthly calendar and jotting down ideas, that is brilliant!
I actually do the pre-writing for posts. Because I do a travel post and a book review post each week I try to always be about a month out on those, but the rest of my posts I try to plan them out 3-5 days in advance, but even then sometimes life gets in the way and that can’t happen:)
Here’s to the surprises of what your June will hold!!!

    1. Things that you post regularly it make sense to post in advance. But yes I’m the same, I like to post 3-5 days in advance.
At the moment though, I have no future blog posts, so I’m just going to roll with it.
