Why Push

Have you ever played dominoes?

Then you know that when you stack dominoes, it only takes one domino to fall, to create a change of events.

If it weren’t for a friend mentioning Turbofire in a post on a forum, I would have never found out about it. I would still be unhappy, miserable, and fat.

Without Turbofire, I would have never known about Chalene Johnson’s 30-Day Push.

It’s safe to say Chalene I’m a lifer.

Push gave me the kick that I needed, for all those dominoes, that I placed in a line, to fall over.

Push is not just a weight loss book. It has taught me to work out my priorities. What my dreams are and what goals do I want to achieve.

Because of push, I changed my weight loss goal from 68kg/150lbs to 65kg/143lbs.

This weight loss goal was been one since October 2011.

I’m going to push myself further and am for 62kg. This would put my BMI at 22.

At this stage, I have 5kg to go, which of course is going to be the hardest. I know I can do it.

I want to be toned. I want people to look at me and think “oh she’s strong”. Vain I know.

Slow and steady wins the race.

My push goal is getting to 62kg, but along the way, I will also achieve the following:

  • I will finish a half marathon (Run Melbourne July 2012)
  • I will RUN a half marathon (Melb Marathon Oct 2012)
  • I will do tough mudder (pre-registered 2013)
  • I will finish insanity (nearly finished run training)
  • I will finish TapouT XT (when I finish insanity)
  • I will continue to run
  • I will eat clean and eat half of my exercise calories back

I will be positive, I will achieve this, and just like Chalene says in push “whether you think you can or can’t, you are properly right”.

Blog update May 2022

Hi, Matilda here.

I look back at this blog post and I cringe at my thought processes.

However, in saying that, I had the right intentions, but I still had a lot to learn.

Even 10 years on.

If you want to know, I did get to 62kg, but I didn’t stay there. And if you reading this now, know that I’m 72kg. Yeah 10kg heavier, but I’m so happy. My body has done some amazing things, and I’m way stronger than I was at 62.

Do I regret this, Nah, life is too short.
