A Year of Home-Making

A journey from house to home

Every year, I set personal goals. One of my primary focuses this year was transforming our new house into a cozy home. It was a journey that began in earnest in early 2024, a year filled with both challenges and immense satisfaction.

A New Chapter

After a whirlwind move from Halls Gap back to Stawell, we finally settled into our new home in February. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as the devastating bushfires that ravaged the region shortly after our move made us grateful for our safe haven.

From House to Home

Our goal was simple: to infuse our new space with warmth, personality, and a touch of nature. To achieve this, we set out to complete a few key tasks:

Artful Additions

We’ve curated a collection of artwork and prints that reflect our personal style. Now, it’s time to frame them and find the perfect spots to display them.

Bringing the outdoors in is a passion of ours. We’ve already added a few hardy houseplants to our indoor garden, and we’re excited to expand our green collection.

Bookish Nook

Scouring the internet we finally came across a bookshelf that we liked and fitted the style of our home. We chose a triple bay system from Tymbr

Garden Paradise

We envision a serene garden retreat with a Japanese maple as the centrepiece. We can’t wait to watch it grow and flourish.

While we’re still working on the full landscaping project, we’re taking it one step at a time. Replacing the fence is a long-term goal, but it’s something we’re looking forward to tackling in the future.

As we continue to work on these projects, we’re grateful for the progress we’ve made so far. Our new home is slowly but surely becoming a place of comfort, joy, and inspiration.
