Port Fairy Parkrun

Excuse me? Who am I? Another parkrun?

Stawell doesn’t have a parkrun. The closest is Ararat, which I have done once, and I don’t really care for the course, so I’ve never gone back to do it again.

Last week, I was in Horsham doing the Wimmera River Parkrun.

This week, we happened to be in Port Fairy for the Queens Birthday (aka me), long weekend.

If there happens to be a parkrun in the location I’m at, and I’m there 8 am on a Saturday, then, of course, I’m going to do it.

Port Fairy Parkrun event #211 was my 30th parkrun, since my first all the way back in 2014!

Starting at the Russell Clark reserve on Ocean Drive, Port Fairy is a three-lap course of the park.

Will rolling hills, 90% of the course is on the footpath, with a small section 300m section that is on grass.

Strangely half of Stawell was there, with many Stawellians taking advantage of the long weekend with a visit to the limestone coast.
