Wimmera River Parkrun

Parkrun is a free 5km event held at various locations around Australia.

I’ve run at the following parkruns:

  • Albert Park
  • Altona
  • Ararat
  • Bega
  • Goolwa
  • Point Cook
  • Port Fairy
  • Wimmera River
  • Wyndham Vale
  • You Yangs

Wimmera River aka Horsham Parkrun is another that I can add to my list.

Located at Sawyer park, and starting the Horsham War Memorial, this event would have to be one of the loveliest parkruns I’ve attended.

This week the SAAC club run was in Horsham. Having always wanted to do this parkrun, I decided to leave home early and do both.

Running along the Wimmera river, the scenic course is flat and fast, with the only rise being the Anzac bridge and coming out of the underpass.

It was lovely to bump into some friendly faces and catch up with a few running friends.

If you are ever in the Horsham region, add Wimmera River Parkrun to your list.
