High Five Friday #59

You know what is so good about this Friday? The fact that it’s the start of my holidays.

Who doesn’t love a good holiday? I look forward to spending quality time with the family.  Bushwalking, beach, fishing, relaxing. Oh yes, please!

You’ll have to check in next time to see how the holidays went, I’m sure they’ll be damn fine.

August Hero Image

Miles loves reading books like “Captain Underpants”, “Hot Dog”, and “Weirdo”.  They are comic-style books, and he just loves them. If it gets him to read, then I’m all for it.

So the other day while I was cleaning out his bag I came across a few drawings. This was one of them.

I just love his creativity.

Where’s it at is a monthly themed post that I have now combined with High Five Friday.

It’s a collection of random words, that best describe the ins and outs of that month.

Five Random Words

.1. RED

While it’s a great colour, I’m running every day in September.  You can read more about it here.

.2. Packing

I’ve had to pack for my holiday a week in advance, which makes it challenging to decide what you want to pack when you have no idea what the weather is going to be like that far ahead.

At least I’m not going somewhere too remote, that if I forget anything, I can quite easily pick it up at the supermarket.

.3. Deferred

Today in the mail I received a letter informing me that I’ve been summoned for Jury Duty.

I will, however, be on holiday and nowhere near the courthouse.  Yes! Got out of that one.

.4. Chosen

While listening to a podcast recently, the host mentioned that he writes down all the books he wants to read.  That way when he finishes a book he knows exactly what he is going to read next.

Taking his recommendation I have done the same.

I’ve chosen what books I want to read next from Kobo, Kindle, iBooks and of course my bookshelf.

.5. Booking

I’ve gotten reminders to have my cervical screening done, and have a dental check-up. Instead of delaying the inevitable, I just bit the bullet and booked them in.

Five Random Things

.1. Carpool Karaoke

James Corden teamed up with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen of Take That for Red Nose Day. This is from 2017, but I only just stumbled upon it.

.2. Teachers Pet Podcast

To be honest, I didn’t plan on listening to this podcast.

After listening to the first episode I had to know more.  I’m now down to the last episode, and I’m delaying it for as long as possible (as no more have been released yet).

If you are into true crime, then you’ll love this podcast.

.3. Dove

There are so many different personality tests out there, so when I came across this one, I thought I would share it.

I saw a Dove, then a horse.

What did you see?

.4.Infuse

Struggle to drink water, or simply don’t like the taste of it, then the new Twinings cold tea infusions could be for you.

I’m a tea drinker anyway, so when I came across these I thought I would give them a try.  Figuring with warmer weather approaching it would be a nice alternative to water.

Let me tell you they are AWESOME!

You simply pop them in your water bottle and fill it with water. You can either leave it in there for a stronger taste or infuse it for a few minutes.

If you only infuse it for the selected time, take it out and save it, as you can get more than 1 serving out of them.

It does say for 500ml, but I’ve done it in a 1l bottle with no issues.

They come in different flavours.  Needless to say, I bought them all.

.5. Beginner Crossfit

While I have never been to a CrossFit class, I have done many CrossFit-style workouts.

If you want to try CrossFit but can’t get to a class then try one of these Beginner-Friendly Crossfit Workouts.
