Recently Skins gave me the opportunity to review a few of their products.
A few weeks ago I reviewed their socks. You can find that review here.
Today I will be reviewing the Skin Leggings. It’s long been known in the medical world the benefit of compression wear for those that have had surgery, have suffered from DVT or other medical issues.
But compression wear in the sporting world has only been around for about 20 years.
A lot can happen 20 years, and a lot of discoveries can and have been made.
We now know that compression wear is also beneficial for athletes.
You don’t have to be an Olympian, or world, national, or state champion. If you regularly workout then skins are for you.
Wearing compression wear like Skins, not only helps to improve blood circulation, and supply more oxygen to your muscles, they help you to work harder for longer but also recover faster.
If there’s one pair of tights you need in your workout wardrobe this season it’s the DNAmic long tights. Combining the best in style with the best in our compression tech, the SKINS DNAmic long tights will keep you comfy and supported through the highest intensity training sessions. Give yourself a performance boost in the DNAmic long tights. They’ll carry you through from warm-up to cool-down and onwards to your post workout brunch date.
I got my first pair of Skins leggings back in 2012, and I lived in them on my long runs.
They got me through my first half marathon at Run Melbourne, back in 2012.
Then in 2014, they were there for me again getting me through Surf Coast. Now I’m not going to lie, I hated that event, but I had my reasons.
Fast forward to 2017 and I could count again on Skins featuring in my training, and there again for me in the 2017 Surf Coast event.
So why do I choose skins?
- Comfort
- Warmth
- Improved endurance
- Better circulation
- Quicker recovery
The only thing I will say is if you are in-between sizes go for the smaller size.
I chose M, as at the time of order I was in that range. By the time I got them, I had lost weight and now fall in the S category.
I mention this because unfortunately when wearing them on my long runs (anything over 10k), I find I’m constantly having to readjust the fit around my waist and crutch. I still benefit from the compression, but who wants to constantly pull up their pants? Yeah, no one.
I must say though, the range of Skin wear is phenomenal now, compared to when I got my first pair. From different levels of compression, length, and of course style and colour.
Thank you again to Skins for giving me the opportunity to review your products
