Project 52 – Week 30

Parkrun is a free weekly event held over various places every Saturday throughout Australia and the world.

While there is a parkrun located in Ararat, I’ve still yet to visit it.

I do have the option of visiting various parkruns in Melbourne when I go to visit my family.

Normally I go visit Point Cook, but on this particular visit, I decided to go visit Wyndham Vale.

Week 30 – Wyndham Vale Parkrun

Do not let that glorious sunshine deceive you, it was frightfully cold (there was a frost that morning).

I should have worn a long sleeve top or leggings, or even gloves.  I was cold the entire run.

Having done a 18km trail run through the You Yangs the day prior I wasn’t sure how my legs would hold up, for my 2nd run at Wyndam Vale.

Looking back at my Parkrun history I could not believe that this was only the 2nd time I had visited.  And it had been over a year, since runs.  I did volunteer as the photographer for their Christmas run in 2016, as I was injured at the time, and thought I would give my volunteer duties instead.

While it was cold, I was happy with my pace.  I finished the 5km in 23:01, 5th person over the line and first female.

My fastest 5km this year.
