Concongella, I would consider is a suburb of Stawell.
I have no idea how it got its name, but it’s a 10-minute drive from the centre of Stawell.
This particular weekend we were out at the Concongella Hall for our run club.
This spot has a whole lot of history. But what I found fascinating was the overgrown tennis court.
Week 24 – Concongella Tennis Court
Do you remember the tv show Life after People?
Well, this little spot is just like that.
What I find fascinating is that right next door is the Concongella Primary School, and on the other side is the Concongella Hall. Possibly 20 years of overgrowth have now seen these once “members only” tennis courts now being reclaimed by the wild.
It is not known when these tennis courts closed down, but they certainly do tell an interesting story.
