Part 4 of What I’ve learnt
No matter how long you have been on your journey for, there will come a time when you will:
- Want to help others
- Others will ask help from you
The problem? Some people will genuinely want your help and will put in the hard yards, and others will want your help, but when they hear what they have to do, they give up.
So expect this.
It’s not your fault. You have not failed them.
At the end of the day you can only help so much before giving up on a lost cause. Because it all comes down to that person. If they really want it, then they will be genuine about it.
There will people you know who would so benefit from a change. You know the ones I’m talking about. They whinge and whine about the same things over and over again, yet don’t do anything to change it.
They are the type of people who you offer your help, but you know they wont take it. It’s like the empty invitation but it’s the empty help instead.
All you can do is lead by example. Be the best version of you, and hope that the way you lead your life rubs off on them, and they make the much needed change/s in their life.
Have you ever experienced the empty help? How did you handle it?
