Busy
I get it we are all busy. But you know what I’m sick of unhealthy/overweight people saying that they are busy when in actual fact they are not. They use busy as an excuse not to exercise. I should know, I have used the excuse. I don’t use it as an excuse anymore, however.
My priorities have changed. I know what is important to me now. My health is one of those important things. So I make the time to exercise. I make the time to log what I’m eating. I make the time for me. My health is important to me, so I make the time to make improvements.
You know if something is important to you by the amount of time you spend on it / put into it. So if you spend numerous hours in front of the tv or on the computer etc, then that tells me (and tells you) how important that is to you.
I believe that busy comes down to 3 categories.
Busy – Organized
This is the person who is genuinely busy but is organized. They know what is important on their list and get the things they need to do done.
Busy – Unorganized
This is the person who is busy but doesn’t organize themselves properly, so they are flustered, and are here and there, and really have no idea what they are doing most of the time.
(I am like this. I am getting better, however)
Busy – Lazy
There are many people like this. They say they are busy, when in actual fact they are not, they just don’t know how to organize their time, or figure out what is important them.
I’m a single mum, I’m not saying that to prove a point, it’s simple fact.
- I have to run the household and get the kids organized for school and all their related activities.
- I’m also a freelance photographer, so I work around my kid’s activities.
- I make time to do my exercise
- I make time to do my reading (my aim is to get to 20 books read with my eyes this year, so far I’m at 15)
- I make time to do my personal study.
- I make time to do the things I want to do (like sewing)
It all comes down to making time. We all have 24 HOURS IN THE DAY. So stop using the excuse that you are busy, because if I can make time to do all the things I want to do, then so can you. I would love to be able to work out at the same time every day, but it doesn’t happen. I still make time to work out though.
So, what does this all come down too?
Time. I said it before “we all have 24 hours in the day”, what you do in those 24 hours is up to you, but make the effort to put 20-60 mins of each day aside for exercise. Really 20 minutes is not that long, and you can work out intensely in that time. So get up and move!
Seriously!
