With a new year brings new intentions.

If you had to pick just one word to hold you accountable for the year, what would you choose?

Keeping it simple with just one word can be like a guiding light. Give you a theme for the year and plenty of space to get creative and play.

Having just one word can also help you be more determined and give you more clarity and purpose.

In 2018, I chose the word build.  Yes, it was with the full intention of building a house.  The house was the ONLY thing that didn’t happen.  All my other ‘builds’ did.

While some call that a failure, I call it just a roadblock.

2019 Intention

I wanted a word that covered all areas of my life.  The word had to be fun, creative, determined, chaotic and explosive.

Why smash?

When I think of Smash, I think about blowing things up, about breaking things apart. (Think 60’s pop art kapow.)

You have to be strong and powerful to break things up. Yet you also need to have moments of calm and clarity.

So it seemed fitting to apply this word.  In fact, I didn’t choose this word, I had other words in mind:

• Unstoppable
• Shine
• Spark
• Fun

My word was going to be UNSTOPPABLE. That word alone is pretty epic.

It wasn’t until I was discussing with some friends their one-word intentions that she mentioned that when I set out to do stuff, I always go out and smash it.

When I thought about it, I had that light bulb moment.  It was then I knew this was the word I had to choose.

In 2019 I plan to smash things up, and I’m going to have fun doing it.
