The Ultimate Coffee Date #19

RunMumButton

It’s that time again to catch up for coffee!

Since it’s summer here I’m going to have an iced coffee.

So grab a chair, get comfy and cosy and let’s chat.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you, that December wasn’t really a running month.

A combination of being physically exhausted with back-to-back events, and travelling up and down the highway for 5 weeks straight. Oh and working, a Child’s Birthday, and Christmas thrown in there too.  Well, you can plainly see why it wasn’t a running month.

I’m ok with that though, and that’s what matters.

Overall I clocked 84km (running km) for the month. My lowest for the year.

mi Strava 2015-12

That brings my total to:

Ok well, that’s just it.  I’m not exactly sure.

My records: 1522 / 1570
Strava: 1544
Run Down Under: 1611

The Average works out at 1561.75km.  Either way let’s just say, that I achieved my goal of Running 1500km for the year.

mi Strava 2015

Since I’m not just a runner, I do walk, hike, cycle & swim occasionally, my total distance covered is well and truly over 1600km / 1000 mi.  That’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you I read an entire book on Christmas day!  Now that doesn’t happen very often, and it was such a luxury to be able to do that.  Also tells me must have been a half-decent read, and it was.

If you are a fan of “Tomorrow When the War Began”, then do check out “The Sky so Heavy”.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you that I’m done with obstacle racing.

Spartan No APP

Spartan Stadium was my last event for the year, and also my last obstacle race.

While I have enjoyed obstacle racing, I feel it’s time to step back from it.

Part of the reason is that none of my friends ever want to do it with me, and well obstacle racing is more enjoyable when you get to do it with others.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you, that I have restarted PiYo (again).

I’ve stopped the weight training for the time being.  Only until I get heavy plates for my barbel.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you, that tomorrow my son turns 7!

We are going to take him out for something fun. Well I do hope he likes it, does involve pizza, so that’s a plus.

If we were sitting down for coffee what would you tell me?

  1. I’d be joining you in that iced coffee and telling you I’m really excited for whatever 2016 will bring, have already entered a number of events and plotting out my year. I want to do some different runs this year. How about you?

    1. I have 2 events that I’m already signed up and paid for.
      * The 10km sunset run, where I will get a 10km pb. Speed training for this one.
      * Wings for life. I’m going to aim for a 1/2 mara pb, and if the car hasn’t past me, then I will slow the pace down and just keep going until it does.

I also plan on doing the Forrest Half mara (this one for just enjoyment, as it will also be my b’day weekend).

Peaks & Trails (aka Mosaic to Mountain) is also on the agenda. I will tackle the 26km Mt Sturgeon challenge.

So they are the running goals, I have other ones that I will explain in a further post.
