High Five Friday #55

Can we have a Yay! Cause it’s Friday!

Did you know that 20th April 2018, was National High Five Friday?

If I had known that earlier, I would have posted this High Five Friday last week.

Oh well, it’s still Friday, so woot!

April Hero Image

Running down the finisher’s chute for Canberra.

This image just captures everything. My determination, my strength, and most importantly my accomplishment.

On the way home from Canberra, I wrote a few thoughts down in my journal. It was a way to debrief, but also to fill in time. I’m glad I did because now I have multiple blog posts thanks to my trusty notes.

One of those notes was the words to describe the ins & outs of April.

Five Random Words

Accomplished

I did it! All the early mornings, all the training runs, got me to the finish line in Canberra, with a new PB.

Less

Waking up early! Until the next training cycle begins in a few weeks’ time.

Behind

On my 18 Recipe collections. I’ve decided I’m not going to include dud recipes.  This will only include the winners.  Which is why I haven’t posted a recipe in a while.  All the new recipes I’ve tried haven’t been winners.

Theory

I have a theory on floating rib pain and stitches.  It will be confirmed once I got to the Chiro.  So watch this space for more info.

DeCluttering

After listening to an episode on the Happier Podcast, and then another on the Chalene Johnson Podcast, there are spaces in the house I need to declutter. So far I’ve conquered the dresser.  Next is the sewing desk.

Five Links

.1. The Boston Marathon was run recently, in some epic weather conditions.

What I love is that 6 unknowns were placed in the top 7.  I also love that the winning woman wore, a beanie, gloves, and a running jacket, but was in shorts.  Respect.

.2. British Man’s Forrest Gump

Forrest certainly did run. Kudos to him.

.3. Running Zone Calculator

In the last six months, I’ve gotten really serious about my pacing zones.  So much so that I updated my watch with new pace settings.

So if you are serious about getting that pb, then free tools like the 80/20 Zone Calculator will get you the results.

.4. Almond Butter Fudge

I’ve made 2 batches of Fudge for my 18 Recipes.  And Both have failed.

Hopefully, 3rd time is the charm, with this recipe found on the Just Eat Real Food FB page.

.5. Hate Running

Yep, I *hate* running.

There I said it.  But really, in all reality, it’s something that we runners relate to.

What do you give a high five to?
