book review: Our Song

By Dani Atkins

Ebook: 512 pages
Mi Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5)

Our Song tells the story of two couples. Ally & Joe and Charlotte & David.

Fate and circumstances find the two couples in the same hospital intensive care unit one night.

One selfless act has Joe lying in ICU. While for David, a heart attack.

While Charlotte is married to David, he happens to be Ally’s, first love.

When their lives collide in the waiting room, all those feels of love and loss come flooding back.

Over a period of 24 hours, we go back into their past and get to know their story.

Our Song is not the first book that I have read by Dani Atkins. The first book of hers that I read was Fractured. Which I also gave 5 stars to.

This book is no exception.

Why did it take me so long to read this book? I have no idea (I’ve owned it since 2016!)

By the end, I was sobbing.

We get to know the characters and events from both perspectives. In turn, your opinion on the characters changes, and the storyline develops.

If you are a fan of Jojo Moyes “Me before you”. Then you will enjoy the emotional rollercoaster that is Our Song.
