High Five Friday #6

What a week!

It’s been super busy in this house this week.  With lots of walking, running, a public holiday, working, and more working.

Phew! Thank goodness it’s the end of the week!

Five Photo’s

Run From the Hills is Saturday next week (15th November, which also happens to be my Mum’s Birthday), which is why I have been hitting the trails. I’m excited about this event, it’s been on my bucket list for a while now.

Tom & I did a 12km hike on Sunday. Isn’t the view just amazing.  Of course, we had to have a selfie.  Excuse my squinting, I took my glasses off (they are transitions), and it was overcast but still bright, but it was windy, so I was getting watery eyes.  Yeah, I know 1st world problems.

Tuesday was a public holiday (Melbourne Cup).  So while Tom was out working, and I was getting my last long run in, the kids had a ball with their Di Di making honey joys.

Kayla stole my phone, and I discovered this selfie in there while trying to find photos for today’s post.  Of course, I had to include it, she’s too cute.

Five Links

I’ve discovered some great links over the last few days, and while I’d love to share them all, I will share just 5.

Hey, I gotta save some for the days I don’t come across anything interesting.

.1. This one came up in my news feed on Facebook. Shoplifted gets schooled by Ultrarunner, I had to have a giggle.  I mean seriously, what was the shoplifter thinking?  I hope Rock/Creek got more business of it, and maybe the shoplifter will look at becoming a runner.  You just never know.

.2. I’m not catholic but the current Pope has some good things to say about being happy. Since I just completed my 100HappyDay project, his 10 tips I could totally agree on

.3. I just recently posted about why you should try Trail Running.

But what about shoes? Well, you can run in normal road shoes, but if you see lots of trail running in your future, then invest in some trail shoes. You’re feet (and the rest of your body will thank you)

Here are 5 tips on how to pick the best trail shoe for you.

.4. To be honest, I don’t remember if I have shared this one or not.  If I have shared it I apologise, if I haven’t then it’s all good.

I came across Bodyweight Todd thanks to Mark Sisson.  If you don’t know who either of those 2 people are, then you seriously need to go click on those links and check them out.  You can thank me later.

Go on, click, I can wait.

*insert waiting music*

Ok, you’re back.

Well, I love Todd cause well did you see how ripped he was! Like wow, and best part, all from bodyweight exercises. So he proves you DON’T need a gym to get ripped.

ANYWAY, I came across this article (because I subscribe to his RSS feed), and it really appealed to me because 1. I’m a runner, and leg strength is super important, but 2. It’s all about body weight.

You can read the article here.

.5. I know Halloween is over and done with, but these costumes were just too clever.  So if you have a fancy dress party coming up, keep this costume idea’s in the back of your mind for your next costume.

What are you high fiving this week?
