Challenge Revisit

Last week I told you that I was making November a Challenge month.

I will admit to you now that my monthly challenges are currently on hold. (Insert sad face here 🙁 ) I’m putting them on hold because I’m finding I’m unable to commit 30 days without giving up.  I don’t want to give up.  But life as a mum sometimes gets in the way and then I get unmotivated and don’t want to do it.

So I’m re-evaluating my challenges, and so I’ve made changes. Change is good, and I think it’s important to realise that I’m still committed.

This is why I’ve decided to change my challenges to weekly challenges.

This week I have decided on Squats and Burpees.

With the squats, I will go as far down as I’m able to. As it’s about proper form.  With all the running I do, my hip flexors get pretty tight. I’m hoping doing this challenge will help there.

10 Burpees for 7 Days

As for burpees, I’ll be doing those with push-ups. As this will be good training for Spartan Race. I can do more burpees without push-ups but then they aren’t really proper burpees.

I will note that I started this challenge on Wednesday 13th of November.  I’ve also added daily reminders to my calendar.

What challenges should I attempt next week?

  1. Good luck with your new challenge:) Life always has a way of getting in the way, but at least your smart, hip flexor strains are a painful thing so I don’t blame you for not wanting to do them exactly like in the picture:)

    1. If I’m warmed up properly (as I discovered today), I can get that low, but providing I do it slowly and don’t rush it. Today I did 30 squats, and they felt good. I ended up doing more squats in my weight training routine too.

  2. I am not a burpees fan. I think i hold my breath or something because I get light headed. I’m doing planks this month. I want to be able to rotate the planks next month. Probably will add something a little different in December like yoga. I am not very good at using that as cross training, but believe I will try that for December since I have a free month at a particular studio.
