Changing Tracks – Get It

May-Button-Clairey

I have never met anyone who doesn’t enjoy music.

Music helps move the soul. It’s also has the power to change you.  It’s empowering, motivating, emotional, peaceful and so much more.

Music helps me get through my long runs.  I know sometimes I enjoy listening to audiobooks, but at the moment I’m just enjoying the music.

I’m constantly changing tracks on my iPod.

This is my current mix, It’s a combination of new, vs old.  (Old however doesn’t mean early 90’s or 80’s stuff.  I just mean stuff from within the last 5 years.)

RunMum Get It

My favourite song on this list would have to be Sara Bareilles Brave.

It’s uplifting and inspiring and helps me to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

The next song isn’t featured on this running mix, but every time I hear it, takes me back to my youth. We did a lot of travelling (around Australia) when I was younger, and my dad would always play this song. I used to hate it.  Then he stopped playing it, and well I began to miss it.  Needless to say, it was always featured on one of our road trips.

Now when I hear it I think about all the good times we had on our adventures. Click here to listen to the song on YouTube. (Yes I’ve tried to embed it but for whatever reason the coding aint working :()

What’s been your brave?
What song do you have on repeat at the moment?
What song reminds you or a special moment in your life?

  1. My hubby always sings this song too as we head out the door because we tend to do a lot of kilometres visiting family & friends on a regular basis. Love the brave song x

    1. I only found that that Brave was released around August last year, but I’ve only learnt about it now. And I’m a fan of Sara so I don’t know how I manage to miss it being released.

  2. We have similar tastes in music! A few of these are on my playlist, and I just realized you have a few here that aren’t on mine, that really should be:) I really need to update my playlist!
    I love Brave too!

  3. A great running list there! I used to work out to Gwen Stefani’s what you waiting for, on repeat, bout 5 times, I’d spring for one minutes, walk 30 seconds, sprint, walk. Must get back into it! Have a great Sunday!

  4. Thanks for your comments on my blog Matilda! I’m looking forward to reading your blog!! I love on the road again – it too is a sound track to my youth. I have too many tunes to choose from – but my go too’s when it gets tough are Linkin Park bleed it out & I have Don Henleys Boys of Summer as my 5km marker for long runs – it reminds me of summer & being carefree, plus the tempo is perfect for me at the moment 🙂

    1. My dad was a disc jockey in the 80’s at the local radio station where we lived back in WA, so I have a huge love of 80’s music. I love Boys of Summer too.
      Thanks for popping over too.
